British Labour Party MP Jo Cox has died following an attack in her constituency in northern England on Thursday. Cox apparently intervened in a dispute between two men.There are media reports that she was shot and stabbed.
Police have arrested Tommy Mair a 52-year-old suspect.
Prime Minister David Cameron said on Twitter that he is, "Very concerned about reports Jo Cox has been injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jo and her family."
One eyewitness said she was shot twice.
Cox is a Labour Party politician. She is the Member of Parliament for the constituency of Batley and Spen having retained the seat for Labour in the 2015 general election.
