Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro plans to conduct some work on its dam in Grand Falls-Windsor.
The company plans to replace a flashboard system, upgrade old concrete at the dam, build a vehicle bridge across the power canal, and erect a pedestrian bridge over sections of the dam.
The planned work will be conducted in phases over the course of three years.
About 40-50 percent of the water we use for operations comes from uncontrolled sources.
The total watershed measures and area of 10241 km2.
