There is another scam making it's rounds in the Capital City Region. RNC say that a 76-year-old man from Mount Pearl was scammed into buying thousands of dollars in iTunes gift cards by a scammer saying that he owed money to the Canada Revenue Agency.
When the scammer calls their number shows up as being from the Canada Revenue Agency. The scammers can be very aggressive, telling people not to call police and to purchase the cards.
