The St. John's Regional Fire Department were cleaning up from a small fire at Georgestown Bakery around 10 am this morning.
The fire was electrical in nature and caused by an oven that malfunctioned. Georgestown Bakery sustained smoke damage.
People living in adjoining homes were evacuated for precautionary reasons.
A timeline for when the bakery will reopen has yet to be determined.
This St. John’s staple is a French style bakery, with no seating.
