It is uncommon the Wal-Mart stops a service but Canadain Stores will stop accepting Visa after a dispute between the two giants.

Wal-Mart currently operates over 400 stores in Canada. On July 18 three stores in Thunder Bay will stop accepting Visa with the remainder of the stores nationally to gradually follow.

Visa and Wal-Mart were unable to agree on an appropriate fee for Visa transactions.

Visa said it "regrets" Wal-Mart’s decision, saying it will have a "negative impact" on shoppers in Canada.

Wal-Mart will continue to accept MasterCard, American Express, Discover and other cards.
