MP Ken McDonald says that there will be more Newfoundland and Labrador students than ever before working under the Canada Summer Jobs program this year.
McDonald announced that in the constituency of Avalon, 529 summer jobs have been approved for funding, for an investment of $1.2 million. Across Newfoundland and Labrador, employers have received approval to hire 3,623 students this summer in seven constituencies. That is up 19 percent from the 3,041 student jobs approved through the program last year.
