The Awe of Icebergs

Newfoundland is one of the most famous places on earth to see icebergs.

An iceberg is a large piece of freshwater ice that has broken off a glacier or an ice shelf and is floating freely in open water.

Every Spring, and sometimes Summer, Newfoundland become a perfect viewing spot along the northern and eastern coasts.

There are numerous opportunities to go on a boat tour, paddle along in a sea kayak or hike along the coast.

Companies have used iceberg water to create Iceberg Water, Iceberg Vodka, Gin, and Rum and, Iceberg Beer.

Icebergs can be unpredictable however, which makes them difficult to navigate around safely. When viewing icebergs from the water, it is recommended that you maintain a safe distance.
