Winterton Boat Building Museum #exploreNL

Located in Winterton on the Baccalieu Trail is the Wooden Boat Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Winterton Boat Building and Community Museum was started in 1997 under the direction of the Town of Winterton’s Heritage Advisory Board.

The founding group decided that the boat building heritage of the province was too important to lose and with this in mind, a decision was taken to expand the mandate and form a province-wide organization known as the Wooden Boat Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador.

WBMNL was incorporated in 2008 as a not-for-profit organization with charitable status, operated by a Board of Directors elected from its members.

The museum holds several events throughout the year.
