Around 9:30 this morning a brush fire was discovered in near Ashuanipi river in Labrador.
The fire burned about 50 km from the tiny community.
Fire fighters from Labrador West quickly got the fire under control. The RNC is bringing in heavy equipment to loosen up the ground to make sure the fire is fully out.
The fire danger is extreme in the area. Most other areas of Labrador has a moderate or high risk.
