Ann Harvey Days

From July 28-31 come experience some of the month long celebrations commemorating the heroism of Ann Harvey's Family and their Newfoundland Dog, Hairyman, who rescued almost 200 souls in two daring rescues in the early 1800's.

In 1828, the Harvey family, with the aid of their Newfoundland dog, "Hairyman", rescued 163 people from the sinking brig "Despatch", shipwrecked on the rocks off Isle Aux Morts.

Experience various folk art events during the anniversary month of July, (Rug Hooking, quilting, theatre, etc). Culminating with the Ann Harvey Days Festival (music, dancing, traditional food, history games, etc).

Isle aux Morts is a community rich in history, located on the picturesque Southwest Coast of Newfoundland. It is a 16 km drive from the Marine Atlantic ferry terminal.
