Turkish President Introduces New Reforms After Failed Coup

Turkish President Erdogan has introduced new reforms to the military following the failed coup.

About half of the countries admirals and generals have been given dishonorable discharges and 1,400 military personnel dismissed. Turkey has also released 750 soldiers detained that were detained after attempted coup.

This new decree allows both the president and prime minister to issue direct orders to the commanders of the army, air force and navy. Also, all military schools and the national defense university will be shut down.

In the attempted coup 237 people were killed and more than 2,100 wounded.
