
It will be the first day at the new Octagon Pond Elementary school.
Grades one through six students will begin today. Kindergarten students will start on September 12.
The Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, Dale Kirby, toured the new facility on Thursday with Darrin Pike, CEO/Director of Education, and Milton Peach, Chair, as well as other representatives of the Newfoundland and Labrador English School Board.
The school will accommodate approximately 700 students.
The total investment in the new school is $22.8 million.
