The RNC's Major Crime Unit have identified the remains found in the area of Roaches Line, Makinsons is that of Joshua Whalen.
On October 14, 2016, at approximately 1:00 pm the RNC was notified by Bay Roberts RCMP of found human remains in the area of New Line Road off of Roaches Line.
RNC Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services, in conjunction with Bay Roberts RCMP, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Rovers Search and Rescue, Central Avalon Search and Rescue, and Avalon North Wolverines responded to the area.
The RNC Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking the assistance of the general public.
