The 55-year-old male was been assaulted with a weapon. He has since died from his injuries.
Upon arrival, police learned that the attacker had left.
The suspect was located at approximately 11:10 pm in Outer Cove. The suspect rammed a marked police car and then tried to drive around when it struck a second police car. The vehicle was stopped after a police pickup drove into it to prevent the car from fleeing and to protect the public.
The 18-year-old driver was taken into custody. The investigation is currently ongoing.
