Man Tased After Hitting Several Vehicles at the HSC #nltraffic

There was a bizarre incident at the Health Sciences Centre in St. john's on Monday evening.

At approximately 11:45 pm, RNC Patrol Services responded to a report of multiple hit and run collisions on the parking lot.

Once police arrived they found a pickup truck being operated in an erratic manner, including deliberate efforts to damage property. The vehicle refused to stop for police and continued to operate on the parking lot in a dangerous manner.

Police deployed Tire Deflation Systems to immobilize the vehicle and used a Conducted Energy Device to gain control of the noncompliant vehicle operator.

As a result of this incident, a 42-year-old male resident of St John’s will be charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Use a Motor Vehicle to Evade Police.
