Stormy 24 Hours Ahead #nlwx

A strong area of low pressure will pass over western New Brunswick today, bringing stormy weather to this province.

The low will bring strong wind to all of Newfoundland today into tonight with gusts up to 140 possible along exposed areas of western Newfoundland and 120 km/h elsewhere. In the Wreckhouse areas gusts up to 180 km/h are possible.

Precipitation will begin this morning in the form of snow along southern, western, and northern Newfoundland. Precipitation amounts will not be significant along the west coast.

Heavy rain is likely to begin on the Avalon and eastern Newfoundland and will continue until Saturday morning. Localized amounts of 100 mm are possible. This will lead to significant snow melt.
