Several people are in hospital in Carbonear following a deck collapse at the All Hallows Parish Hall in North River.
About fifty people were on hand for a bingo fundraiser in North River. There was a jackpot of about $6,000.
The deck stood roughly 4 feet off the ground.
Witnesses said that four ambulances arrived along with police and firefighters. There are also unconfirmed reports of broken bones.
