The Confederation Building is located on Confederation Hill overlooking Newfoundland and Labrador's capital city St. John's.

Standing at 64 meters tall the 11 storey structure was started in 1959 and was completed in 1960 and the second part was completed in 1991.

East Block is the original and tallest of the two buildings.

The West Block opened in 1985, this building is to the west of the East Block and contains some government departments, and various offices and agencies.

The building cost $9,000,000 to complete and was renovated in 1982 and presently.
