Memorial University of Newfoundland, known as Memorial University or MUN, is the main post-secondary institution in Newfoundland and Labrador.
It is one of the top comprehensive universities in Canada. Also, with over 18,000 students, it is the largest university in Atlantic Canada.
Not only is there the main St. John's campus, there is the Marine Institute, Grenfell Campus in Corner Brook, and Harlow Campus, located in Old Harlow, Essex, England.
MUN started in September 1925 at a campus on Parade Street in St. John's as Memorial University College.
The college was established as a memorial to the Newfoundlanders who had lost their lives on active service during the First World War.
