Premier Dwight Ball announced that the portion of the Trans-Canada Highway between Peacekeepers Way and the Veterans Memorial Highway on the Avalon Peninsula will officially be named the Highway of Heroes.
The naming is in partnership with the 2nd Canadian Army Veteran Motorcycle Units, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter.
In partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion, several roads throughout the province have been named in honour of Newfoundland and Labrador's veterans including Veterans Memorial Highway, Peacekeepers Way and the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Labrador.
