A 25-year-old male has been arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest, Assault with a Weapon, and Assaulting a Peace Officer after RNC in St. John's responded to a Parole Warrant being issued by Correctional Services Canada.
When RNC located the individual, he attempted to avoid apprehension and a foot chase ensued.
The suspect then confronted the officer in pursuit with what appeared to be a hypodermic needle, which was later determined to be an epinephrine autoinjector.
The officer was able to subdue the suspect by pointing a taser and warning the suspect of its impending use.
He was held in custody, to appear at Provincial Court in this morning.
