School Staff Find Quantity of Marijuana

RNC was called to Leary’s Brook Junior High School in St John’s yesterday afternoon after staff discovered a quantity of marijuana with an estimated street value of $200.

As a result of the follow-up investigation, a female youth has been charged with Theft Under $5000 related and the investigation into the Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act is continuing.

The age of the youth will not be released to prevent any potential identification as required under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
